Ouaddou: Fans Are Going To Ask Questions

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou expressed his disappointment after his team’s 2-1 loss to Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership match on Tuesday evening.
This was the Buccaneers’ second loss on the bounce, with Ouaddou saying fans will start to ask questions about the direction of the team under his tutelage.
They came to this game having lost to Sekhukhune United at home over the weekend.
“It’s not the result we expected,” Ouaddou said on SuperSport TV after the game.
“We came here with a lot of ambition to take these three points that we lost at home. I can say that we started very well again, opening the score with a lot of chances again, which within put in the net.
“And like I said, when you don’t score and you allow the opponent to finish you.”
Pirates had taken the lead through Patrick Maswanganyi’s goal in the 16th minute, but Gallants equalized just before halftime through Daniel Msendami and went on to win the game with a goal from Jaisen Clifford in the 90th minute.
“It’s a big disappointment, and we started very badly, and we’ll sit and think about that, no doubt,” Ouaddou added.
“This is a big club. Fans will start asking questions, but for now, I’m sure we’ll be doing a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make sure that come the next game, we get it right.”
The Moroccan mentor Ouaddou acknowledged that his team will need to analyze their performance and identify areas for improvement.
“We are going to analyze the game and see what’s going wrong, especially in the second half,” he said.
“We tried to make some adjustments, to bring some fresh blood, but unfortunately, the changes we made didn’t give us what we expected from them.
“Yes, it’s a big disappointment, but we are going to see, analyze, and come back stronger for the next game.”
The loss sees Pirates sitting in 14th position in the log table, while Gallants are now the log leaders with six points.
The Buccaneers will look to bounce back in their next game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semifinal match on Saturday at Orlando Stadium.
Gallants, on the other hand, will return to action next Wednesday when they face AmaZulu.
