“Paint The Stands!”: KZN’s Rallies Behind Milford Ahead Of High-Stakes Magesi Playoff Clash

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport has urged football fans to pack Richards Bay’s Umhlathuze Sports Complex for free this Wednesday, backing Milford FC against Magesi FC in a crucial PSL promotion playoff clash.
Both sides head into the midweek fixture riding high after winning their respective mini-league openers.
How Milford and Magesi Took Control of the Playoffs
Xanti Pupuma’s Milford side—who secured their playoff ticket by finishing third in the Motsepe Foundation Championship—kickstarted their campaign with a gritty 1-0 victory over Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium.
Meanwhile, Magesi FC entered the playoffs looking to protect their top-flight status after a tough Betway Premiership campaign.
The Limpopo outfit claimed the driving seat in the mini-league standings this past weekend, dispatching Cape Town City 2-0 at Seshego Stadium.
Because of Magesi’s superior goal difference (+2 versus Milford’s +1), Wednesday’s showdown will directly decide who takes outright control of the top spot.
A Call to Action for KZN Football Fans
With the stakes incredibly high, the KZN Sports Department spent Tuesday mobilizing local communities, desperate to create an intimidating atmosphere for the visiting Limpopo side.
“On Tuesday, we were on the ground reminding people to support Milford by filling up the stadium,” the department confirmed in an official statement. “Let’s paint the stands, bring the noise, and push our boys over the line.”
The stakes are absolute: the ultimate winner of this three-team mini-league earns a spot in the lucrative Betway Premiership for the upcoming season. If Magesi finish on top, they successfully retain their elite status, while a Milford triumph would see them promoted.
Kick-off is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and the department has confirmed that entrance for all spectators is completely free.
