Pirates Attacker Leaves To Join Israeli Side

Karim Kimvuidi has confirmed his departure from Orlando Pirates for Israeli club FC Ashdod, a move that was completed without a public statement from the team.
The attacker signed with FC Ashdod after a successful trial over the weekend.
Kimvuidi’s playing time with the Pirates was expected to be minimal due to a high number of new attacking players added during the off-season.
The player shared his emotions in a farewell post, stating, “It is with great emotion that I announce my departure from Orlando Pirates. Wearing this jersey has been an immense honor and a dream I was lucky enough to live to the fullest.
“Thank you for your support in good times and in bad. You have always been behind me, in the stands and on the streets, and it is something I will never forget. Every goal, every victory, every moment spent on the pitch with you in the stands will remain etched in my heart. A new adventure awaits me, but no matter where I play, I will forever remain grateful to this great family. Thank you for everything, and see you soon on the pitch.”
The Congolese-born attacker joined Pirates from Martizburg United (now Durban City) ahead of the 2023/24 season, a team that was relegated at the end of the previous season. In his two seasons with the Pirates, Kimvuidi made 37 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
The 23-year-old leaves the club with two MTN8 titles and one Nedbank Cup win. He will be remembered for scoring the winning penalty against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium during his first season.
