Pirates Hammer Disciples To Reach Next Round In CAF

Orlando Pirates flexed their muscles with a resounding 4-0 victory over CS-Disciples in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round match at Orlando Stadium on Friday.
Three of Pirates’ goals were scored in the first half, where they completely dominated the game. Pirates needed a strong performance after a goalless draw in the first leg.
The match, played in a vibrant atmosphere, saw Pirates come out firing and put CS-Disciples under immediate pressure. Tshegofatso Mabasa was denied an early goal due to an offside call.
However, Pirates quickly found the net. Monnapule Saleng’s pass found Mabasa, who on the turn the ball saw the ball smashed by CS-Disciples defender Andoniana Rakatondrazaka, resulting in an own goal.
Pirates continued to press, with Mabasa’s shot saved by Disciples goalkeeper Harrison Razanajaona. Relebohile Mofokeng doubled Pirates’ lead with a well-placed shot past Razanajaona.
Patrick Maswanganyi added a third goal with a stunning strike from outside the box. Pirates dominated the game at this point, with Saleng denied a goal due to an offside call.
In the second half, Mabasa and Saleng continued to be unlucky with offside decisions. But Karim Kimvuidi sealed Pirates’ victory with a late goal in added time
