PSL Awards To Be Held On Sunday

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed that the 2023/24 season’s awards ceremony will be held likely to be virtually on Sunday (18:30).

This has been a trend since the 2019/20 season. The ceremony will be broadcast live on SABC and SuperSport TV, the league’s official broadcasters.

Some fans have questioned the quietness from the PSL about the awards announcement, considering the Nedbank Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates marked the season’s final game on 1 June.

Traditionally, as seen in the 2018/19 season at Durban ICC, the awards ceremony took place a day after the Ke Yona Cup final. However, this year’s schedule and in the recent times deviates from that norm.

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams emerges as a strong favorite for the PSL Footballer of the Season award after a stellar season with the “African Giants.” He’s also nominated for both the Players’ Player of the Season and the Goalkeeper of the Season awards.
