Pule Predicts An Exciting Clash Against Pirates In The Wafa Wafa Cup
SuperSport United winger Vincent Pule previewed his return to Orlando Stadium on Saturday, expressing excitement about facing his former club, Orlando Pirates.
Pule spent six seasons with the Buccaneers, winning five trophies, witnessing numerous player and coaching changes while maintaining a strong connection with the team.
He departed at the end of last season after limited playing time due to increased competition, particularly following the emergence of Monnapule Saleng. The 32-year-old subsequently reunited with coach Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United. The duo won three trophies together at Bidvest Wits – the league title and the MTN8 in the 2016/17 season and the Carling Knockout in the following season.
The Pretoria side will clash with Pirates in a potentially thrilling MTN8 quarter-final on Saturday (18:00). With his SuperSport debut potentially against his former club, Pule anticipates a highly charged encounter.
“It is going to be an exciting game and for me as well it is going to be an exciting match going back there, playing against them in the first match,” said Pule.
Given the history of intense rivalry between the two teams, emotions are bound to run high.
Pule emphasized the importance of staying focused on the game plan to avoid being overwhelmed by the occasion. “The most important part is to stay in the team’s plans and as the coach always tells us to stay in the plan and I think it’s going to be very important come this weekend,” stressed Pule.
The four-time MTN8 winner concluded by expressing his anticipation for the match: “It is going to be an exciting one and I am looking forward to it.”
