Royal AM Wallop AmaZulu In The Premier’s Cup
Royal AM emphatically defeated AmaZulu 3-0 in the KZN Premier’s Cup semifinal at Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Stadium on Saturday.
Royal AM dominated the match, scoring two stunning goals early on before Ruzaigh Gamildien added a third later in the game. The dominant performance secured their place in the final against Maritzburg United at the same venue at 3:00 PM.
AmaZulu struggled to create opportunities and were outclassed by Royal AM throughout the match.
Sanele Radebe opened the scoring with a spectacular long-range strike that left goalkeeper Olwethu Mzimela with no chance. The goal was celebrated wildly by the Royal AM players.
Philane Sithebe doubled the lead in the 72nd minute with a beautifully placed shot that again beat Mzimela.
Gamildien completed the rout with a composed finish from close range, ending AmaZulu’s reign as champions.
With a comfortable three-goal lead, Royal AM had the luxury of fielding club chairman Andile Mpisane into the game.
Royal AM are one of the most successful clubs in the competition’s history, having won the title three times.
