Seema Confident On Experience — Backs Nurkovic To Regain Form

Siwelele coach Lehlohonolo Seema shared his thoughts on the role his side’s senior players have in guiding younger players to adapt to top-tier football, whilst expressing his belief that Samir Nurkovic can regain his form.

Siwelele boasts one of the most experienced forward lines in the Betway Premiership, with the likes of Vincent Pule, Christian Saile, Nurkovic, and Zakhele Lepasa, making up Seema’s squad.

The Bloemfontein-based side gave Orlando Pirates as good as they got in the Carling Knockout round of 16, but went in the dying minutes through a stunning strike by Mbekezeli Mbokazi at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

“It’s always nice to blend experience with the youth, but if you check those players, they haven’t had a lot of game time, so it’s going to take time for us,” said Seema about his experienced players.

“So yeah, we are happy having them around experience in the team,” added Seema on his side’s youngsters.

The former Sekhukhune United mentor also expressed his optimism about Nurkovic’s potential return to the form he showcased during his early days at Kaizer Chiefs.

“To see him smiling like that in the field of play, I can tell you that in the first week I arrived at training, you could see he was coming,” said Seema.

The 33-year-old Serbian striker joined Siwelele as part of its transition from SuperSport United, which makes it his fifth club since landing on South African soil in July 2019.

“He looks happy, he looks energetic, he looks like he’ll get back into his old days,” added the Siwelele FC gaffer.

The Siwelele boss will be hoping his side’s blend of youth and experience helps his side get back to winning ways when they face Kaizer Chiefs, away from home, after the international break.
