Seema: I Don’t Know Who I Will Play In The Nedbank Cup Last 16

Sekhukhune United coach Lehlohonolo Seema says the uncertainty around the Nedbank Cup round of 16 tie is making it difficult for him because they don’t know who they’ll face this coming weekend.
Babina Noko is set to face Royal AM or Milford at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday, but those two have yet to play in the round of 32 after the game was suspended by the PSL due to Royal AM’s off-field issues.
Royal AM is yet to play their first game of 2025 as they last played on 29 December last year in their 3-1 loss against TS Galaxy at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Meanwhile, AM’s players have not yet returned to training as they last trained on Friday of last week, and the players are yet to receive their January salaries. This is also a sign that indicates Thwihli Thwahla won’t play this weekend. As that is the case, Sportswire has been informed that the PSL is set to give Milford a bye and Sekhukhune might face them in the round of the 16.
“We will prepare well even though we don’t know who will be playing against,” Seema said.
“We will make sure we get the clips of both teams, then we’ll do the homework. I think the best thing to do is to look at ourselves, why we couldn’t score, why we couldn’t defend.
“We will also look at what we are doing well so that we can improve more. After the draw was done we knew that we had to prepare both teams. But I think we have the whole week, it’s better now we are back and recharge a little bit then come Saturday we’ll go to Durban.”
On Sunday, Babina Noko played a 1-1 draw against SuperSport in the Betway Premiership match, where they returned to fourth place.
Seema lamented that it was not good to drop points at home after they took the lead first.
“Look, this was our second game in the second round and we still have a lot of games to play,” the former Chippa United coach added.
“But I think if you are not winning games at home it’s going to be difficult because if you win all your home games everything will be easier for you to grab. If you don’t get three points away this will be helpful to you.
“This is a two-point drop, but we were playing against a strong team. I just feel sorry for Ali Badra Sangare after having a great performance and keeping us in the game by saving a penalty.”
