September Gives Kwayiba The Green Light To Leave Chippa

Chippa United coach Thabo September says the Chilli Boys won’t hesitate if one of the biggest clubs in South Africa wants to sign forward Sinoxolo Kwayiba.

The 25-year-old has been an influential player in September’s club this season, as he has scored six league goals. Last year, the former Pretoria Callies player caught the eye of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos as he called Kwayiba in Bafana’s squad.

On Tuesday, Kwayiba scored a brace and won the Man of the Match award in their 2-0 victory against Cape Town City.

“I think I want him [Kwayiba] to be big-headed in a right way, there’s nothing wrong to have the right arrogance and the right attitude,” September said.

“So, we try to let him be himself and control him there and there but also us be the only team in the Eastern Cape it’s easier to manage him. We want him to play his best football, and we are all around him, supporting him.

“Holding him back is not a good thing, I think we should let him be free and express himself unless is doing something wrong then the treatment will change.

“It’s good for him that big teams want him, and for him to get there he needs to perform. I think he did very well, so it’s just to keep him grounded because if he’s not performing, not fit if he’s injured, and all those things they play a factor to him and we try to manage like all other players, and hopefully he gets bought.

He continued: “You want players to get bought, you want players to move on. If I want him to stay in the Eastern Cape I will be selfish because that will mean I don’t want the best for him. The best for him is to play for the big teams and play for the CAF competitions and also for the national team. I want the best for him.”

Kwayiba will be hoping to increase his goals when his side face Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership match at Buffalo City Municipality Stadium on Saturday [15:30].
