Soweto Derby Sold Out
Tickets for the highly anticipated Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates later this month have officially sold out.
The match will be played at FNB Stadium on 28 February, at the iconic venue that hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup final.
The sell-out comes as no surprise, with both teams firmly in the race for the Betway Premiership title this season.
Orlando Pirates currently top the table with 35 points from 15 matches. Kaizer Chiefs, who have also played 15 games, sit third on 30 points.
This will be the first Soweto Derby of the 2025/26 season. The return leg is scheduled for 25 April at the same venue and is also expected to attract a full house.
Pirates completed a league double over Chiefs last season, but Amakhosi had the final say, defeating their rivals in the Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium in May.
Historically, the two fierce rivals have clashed 183 times. Chiefs have won 75 matches, Pirates have claimed 49 victories, while 54 encounters have ended in draws. Five matches were abandoned.
