Spurs Bolster Squad With Six New Signings, Including Ex-Chiefs

Cape Town Spurs have made a significant splash in the transfer market, securing six new players ahead of the upcoming Motsepe Foundation Championship season.

Under the guidance of experienced coach Ernst Middendorp, Spurs have added several familiar faces to their squad. Enock Atta Agyei, Ebrahim Seedat, Daylon Claasen, Tawfeeq Salie, Keletso Sifama, and Angelo Barrote have all joined the Urban Warriors.

Middendorp previously worked with some of these players at Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs. Claasen and Salie were part of his squads at Maritzburg, while Sifama joined him on loan from Chiefs during his time at Maritzburg.

“We are delighted to welcome our newest Urban Warriors to the Cape Town Spurs FC camp,” the club announced in a statement.

Spurs are aiming to bounce back from relegation and return to the top flight of South African football. The club’s ambitious plans have led them to bring back Middendorp, who had initially left at the end of the previous season.

Spurs’ first match of the 2024/25 season will be against the University of Pretoria on Sunday, 25 August.
