Sukazi Expects Overseas Moves For Star Players

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi anticipates the departure of two of his star players, Puso Dithejane and Samukele Kabini, at the end of the season.

Sukazi believes both players deserve opportunities to play overseas, having been instrumental in the club’s current fourth-place position in the Betway Premiership. Reports suggest that SuperSport United is monitoring both Kabini and Dithejane, who have missed one and two league matches, respectively.

“They are destined for overseas, for the European market, for sure,” Sukazi stated, adding that he won’t stand in the way of players leaving if they receive suitable offers.

“Not only Dithejane or Kabini, but Khulumane Ndamane as well. Our central defensive pairing of Kabini and Ndamane is the youngest in the league, and perhaps you haven’t noticed that. I’m saying this – they are the best central pairing, those two. But meanwhile, journalists are hesitant to say this. I’m saying it loud and clear and unequivocally. They are the best and young – both 20 and 21 – and we are the only club that has entrusted them in such a crucial position.”

He continued: “You can expect one of them to leave for overseas. They, along with Dithejane and Kamogelo Sebelebele, are national assets in my view.”

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, who has been scouting Betway Premiership and Nedbank Cup matches ahead of next month’s resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin, will announce his squad in the coming weeks.

Sukazi believes Kabini deserves a call-up to the national team, having scored three goals in 16 matches, a remarkable achievement for a young defender.

“Kabini, who has been consistent since last year, deserves to be in the senior national team, not just COSAFA Cup matches,” he emphasized.

“Call them (Kabini and Dithejane) up for the World Cup qualifiers, not COSAFA. If a player is ready, they are ready, simple. I said the same thing about Bathusi Aubaas (who joined Mamelodi Sundowns last season). I said call him up for the national team, not COSAFA, and eventually it happened.

“And, as you all agree, he is now at the top level. Ndamane is a national asset; we have to look after him. Other countries are integrating young players like him into their national teams, and especially since you don’t find these types of center backs often – strong, very good on the ball, quick and very fast, they can play any pass, they can sweep, they can climb. What else do you want in a national team? It is proven.

“What else should happen? Some players get into the national team by luck, and I’m being brutal. They just survive due to the comedy of errors, but for some reason, people tend to forget that. When they are in the national team, everyone is supposedly the best. No.

“Coaches have to make decisions based on merit. Kabini and Ndamane are national assets; they deserve to be considered for our national team defense, and I’m talking about high-level tournaments.”
