Sukazi: I’m Accepting This Role With Good Hands

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi says he is happy to be one of the youngest members of the newly elected National Soccer League Executive Committee that will serve for four years.

The NSL hosted its Quadrennial General Meeting [QGM] on Wednesday at Johannesburg in the Convention Centre in Sandton, where they elected a new NSL Executive Committee.

Sukazi is part of the newly elected members and Dr. Irvin Khoza, who was elected unopposed as the chairman.

Sukazi revealed that he was happy about this opportunity and promised to do a great job. “To be elected most democratically as it went for I, I think the most humbling experience is to realize the amount of trust that the league membership has been stored to me personally,” Sukazi said.

“Mine is to come in and serve, to be honest. I’m coming into this role and responsibility purely for purposes of the amount of good work that has been done by the other members of the executive that are remaining and will continue with their four-year term.

“So, it’s a responsibility that I accept with good hands. And given what we know that as South Africans we are so married and in love with our game. Failure for South African football is not an option.”

The chairman of Galaxy will be on this executive committee until the end of the 2027/28 season.

The other members that were elected alongside Sukazi include the chairman of Kaizer Chiefs FC Dr Kaizer Motaung, Mato Madlala, Dr Rejoice Simelane, Sifiso Biyela, Stanley Matthews, and Johnny Mogaladi.

Sukazi was elected alongside the chairmen of Polokwane City Johnny Mogaladi and Sifiso Biyela of Richards Bay, replacing Rob Benadie of Stellenbosch, John Commits of Cape Town City, and David Thidiela of Black Leopards.
