Sundowns And Pirates Separated In The MTN8 Semis As Final Blockbuster Beckons!
Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates remain on a collision course for the MTN8 final after avoiding each other in Sunday’s unseeded semifinal draw.
Cup specialists Orlando Pirates were paired with Sekhukhune United, who earned their spot following a dramatic 4-3 extra-time victory over AmaZulu at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday. The Buccaneers advanced to the last four on Saturday after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Durban City at Orlando Stadium.
On the other side of the draw, Miguel Cardoso’s Mamelodi Sundowns will face Golden Arrows. Sundowns, seeking their first MTN8 title since 2021, eliminated Polokwane City on Saturday. They now meet an Arrows side riding high after knocking out Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Sunday night.
The unseeded draw format meant any team could face any opponent. Both semifinal matchups will take place over two-legged home-and-away ties.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) will announce the confirmed dates, venues, and kickoff times in due course.
