Sundowns Beat Pirates To Ndlovu’s Signature

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of Siyanda Ndlovu from Golden Arrows as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Brazilians beat Orlando Pirates to the signature of the highly-rated 23-year-old, following reports that Pirates’ initial offer for the player had been rejected.

Sportswire was informed last week that Ndlovu was edging close to joining Pirates, with the player having done the medical but could not agree on the terms.

Ndlovu joins the 2025/26 CAF Champions League winners after making 74 appearances for the Durban-based club, scoring eight goals and providing 13 assists during his time with Arrows.

A Breakout Campaign

Ndlovu enjoyed a breakout season in Durban under former coach Manqoba Mngqithi last term, before Pitso Dladla took the reins at Abafana Bes’Thende a few days ago ahead of the new campaign. The winger racked up 30 appearances across all competitions, anchoring Arrows’ march to a sixth-place finish in the Betway Premiership with an impressive return of four goals and eight assists.

His blistering early-season form completely dominated the PSL monthly accolades. Ndlovu swept consecutive Player of the Month awards for September and October, while also bagging the Goal of the Month award for a stunning solo effort against Stellenbosch FC on October 22nd.

Looking Ahead to Chloorkop

His arrival marks Sundowns’ second signing of the current transfer window, following the acquisition of Antonio van Wyk from SV Ried.

The move grants Ndlovu the opportunity to compete on the grandest stages of African football, including the CAF Champions League, while also potentially featuring in future FIFA Club World Cup competitions with the Tshwane giants.

With fierce competition for places at the Chloorkop-based club, Ndlovu will be eager to make his debut when Sundowns face Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-finals early next month.
