Sundowns Ladies Maintain Lead In Hollywoodbets Super League
The Hollywoodbets Super League was in full swing over the weekend, with all teams in action and plenty of exciting matches.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies continued to impress, beating Durban Ladies 3-1 and maintaining their lead at the top of the log with 39 points after 16 games. Durban Ladies, on the other hand, remain at the bottom of the log with only five points.
TS Galaxy Queens had an opportunity to close the gap between themselves and Sundowns but were held to a 1-1 draw by Copperbelt Ladies.
Despite the draw, Galaxy Queens remain in third position with 31 points and still have a chance to move closer to Sundowns, having two games in hand.
Other notable results from the weekend include TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies’ 5-2 win over Royal AM, UCT Ladies’ 2-1 victory over Ezemvelo, and JWV Girls’ 2-0 win over Richmond United Ladies.
City Lads suffered a 1-0 loss to University of Pretoria Ladies, while UJ Ladies edged out First Touch Ladies 1-0. University of Fort Hare Ladies secured a 2-0 win over UWC Ladies in Cape Town.
The league will continue this week with a single match on Wednesday between UJ Ladies and the University of Fort Hare at UJ Stadium. The rest of the fixtures will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, Royal AM will face TS Galaxy Queens, Ezemvelo will host Copperbelt Ladies, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will take on UCT Ladies, University of Pretoria will visit University of Fort Hare, and UCT Ladies will host First Touch Ladies.
On Sunday, three games will be in action, including UJ Ladies facing Richmond United Ladies, Durban Ladies traveling to the Eastern Cape to face City Lads, and JVW Girls will be facing TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies.
