Pirates Vs. Sundowns MTN8 Semi-Final Sells Out
Tickets for the MTN8 first-leg semi-final between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium on Saturday have officially sold out.
These two teams have dominated the competition, winning the last five titles between them. The first leg of this highly anticipated Wafa Wafa Cup match will take place at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (15:00), with the second leg scheduled for the following week.
The PSL has yet to announce the venue and ticket information for the return match.
In the other semi-final, Sekhukhune United will face Stellenbosch, with the first leg being hosted at Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
Pirates secured their spot in the semi-final by defeating Polokwane City 2-0 in the quarter-final, while Sundowns advanced with a commanding victory over Richards Bay.
Pirates are aiming for their fourth consecutive and fifth overall title in the last six seasons, a feat made possible after winning the last three finals against AmaZulu, Sundowns, and Stellenbosch.
Sundowns’ last victory in the competition was during the 2021/22 season. Pirates won the title by defeating Sundowns in the final on penalties in the 2023/24 season and then retained it last season against Stellenbosch under former coach Jose Riveiro, who was replaced by Abdelsam Ouaddou during the off-season.
