Tickets Sold Out For Sundowns Vs. Pirates MTN8 Semifinal
Mamelodi Sundowns has confirmed that tickets for their second-leg MTN8 semifinal against Orlando Pirates this coming weekend have officially sold out.
The match will be played at the smaller Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday. The two teams played to a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the first leg at Orlando Stadium, which was attended by a capacity crowd.
Sundowns fans have secured all the tickets for Saturday’s crucial match. The club holds a slight advantage heading into the second leg, having secured a vital away goal.
If Pirates fail to score a goal, will see Sundowns advance to the final. For Pirates to progress to their fourth final, they will need to score to overcome the away goal deficit.
In the first leg, Teboho Mokoena scored with a powerful header in the 36th minute from a Marcelo Allende corner kick.
Pirates, who have a strong record against Sundowns in this competition—winning four of the last six meetings—found the equalizer in the 87th minute when Kamogela Sebelebele slotted the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Ronwen Williams.
Sundowns has not defeated Pirates in this tournament since the 2007 final, when the cup was known as the SAA Supa 8. That match was played at Kings Park Stadium in Durban.
