Lorch “Excited” To Face Man City In The FIFA Club World Cup

Wydad Casablanca attacker Thembinkosi Lorch has expressed his excitement about facing his favorite club, Manchester City, in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
The Moroccan giants were drawn into Group G, alongside English giants Manchester City, Italian powerhouse Juventus, and Al Ain from the UAE.
Wydad will kick off their tournament campaign against Pep Guardiola’s City at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on 18 June.
Four days later, they will face Juventus at the same venue. Their final group stage match will be against Al Ain on 26 June at Audi Field in Washington.
However, the match Lorch is most anticipating is against defending champions Manchester City. Lorch was brought to Wydad on loan by former club coach Rulani Mokwena, who also admired City and Guardiola, particularly for his sense of style.
Lorch is currently on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, who are also participating in the expanded tournament in America.
“It is exciting,” commented Lorch. “Like I said before, Manchester City, Juventus – those are big teams. I’m supporting Man City, and it would be nice for me to play against them to see how they play and learn from them because they are playing on the big stage.”
The FIFA Club World Cup final is scheduled for 13 July at New York’s MetLife Stadium, and Lorch hopes Wydad will be there to contend for what is set to be the biggest prize in club football.
