Sales Confident Ahead Of Fluminense Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Arthur Sales is buzzing with excitement for their highly anticipated match against Brazilian giants Fluminense at the Hard Rock Stadium on Wednesday (21:00).

After closely observing Fluminense’s recent game against Borussia Dortmund, Sales believes that Sundowns has a strong chance of securing a victory.

“I think these guys, we watched them against Dortmund, and what I can say is that we have a good chance to play against Fluminense,” stated the Brazilian forward.

Sales anticipates a high-quality match, with both teams showcasing their Brazilian flair.

“I think it’s a good game and a nice game because both teams think like Brazilians, both teams play with possession, and it’s going to be a good game.”

The 22-year-old Brazilian footballer also acknowledged the strength of Fluminense, saying,

“Everyone in Fluminense is a good player because to play for this team, you must be at a good football level, and I think it will be a very competitive match.”

The stakes are high, with both teams vying for a spot in the knockout stage. Sundowns currently sits in third place with three points, having beaten Ulsan 1-0 and lost 4-3 against Borussia Dortmund.

Fluminense, on the other hand, leads the group with four points, having played a 0-0 draw against Dortmund and beating Ulsan 4-2.

A win is essential for Sundowns to advance to the next round, although a draw could also suffice if Dortmund loses to Ulsan. Dortmund is currently in second place with four points, level with Fluminense but separated by goal difference.

Sundowns hopes to be the sole African representative in the knockout stages, after Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca, and Esperance all exited in the group stages.
