Sekhukhune Confirms Double Signing

Sekhukhune United has confirmed the double signing of veteran striker Bradley Grobler and attacker Sphiwe Mahlangu.

Grobler joins from SuperSport United, a move that was first revealed by Sportswire a few days ago. Mahlangu, on the other hand, has been signed from TS Galaxy.

“Sekhukhune United confirms the signing of Bradley Grobler from SuperSport United. The experienced forward arrives with years of top-flight action and a proven eye for goals! Welcome to Babina Noko,” the club announced.

Grobler had been with SuperSport since January 2013, when he joined from Cape Town Spurs after a brief spell with Turkish side Göztepe. During his 12 years at SuperSport, Grobler won two Nedbank Cup trophies – in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, both triumphs coming against Orlando Pirates. He notably scored in both finals, which were played at Peter Mokaba Stadium and Moses Mabhida Stadium, respectively.

Grobler will be reuniting with his former coach, Eric Tinkler, at Sekhukhune. Under Tinkler, he won the MTN8 title in the 2017/18 season, defeating Cape Town City. He departs SuperSport as their all-time leading goal scorer, having netted 91 goals and provided 29 assists in 293 appearances.

Sphiwe Mahlangu Boosts Sekhukhune Attack

Mahlangu, who hails from Mpumalanga, TS Galaxy’s home province, scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in 110 appearances for the Rockets.

“Sekhukhune United confirms the signing of Sphiwe Mahlangu from TS Galaxy. Mahlangu boosts our attack ahead of the new season. Welcome to Babina Noko,” the club stated in its announcement.

Sekhukhune recently confirmed that they have recalled Wonderboy Makhubu from Magesi FC where he was on loan.

Sekhukhune United is now also set to officially confirm the signing of Miguel Timm, who left Orlando Pirates at the end of last season.
