Maema Lands A New Club After Leaving Sundowns

Tanzanian side Simba SC has confirmed the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Neo Maema.
The 30-year-old was recently released by Sundowns after joining the club before the 2020/21 season from the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
Maema’s departure from Sundowns seemed imminent when he was sent to join the Bafana Bafana CHAN team, where he serves as captain. He even managed to score in a match against Guinea before the team was eliminated after a 3-3 draw with hosts Uganda.
During his time at Sundowns, Maema won four league titles, one Nedbank Cup, one MTN8, and the African Football League title. He made 120 appearances for the club, recording 13 goals and 14 assists.
At his new club, Maema will be reunited with former Sundowns defender Rushine de Reuck, who was on loan in Israel last season. Simba SC is coached by Fadlu Davids, and his technical staff includes fellow South African and goalkeeper coach Wayne Sandilands.
