Ndlovu’s Goal Boosts Confidence And Earns Trust At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has stated that the goal he scored against Polokwane City played a crucial role in his coaches trusting him and boosting his confidence.

The newly signed midfielder from SuperSport United scored the winning goal in their Betway Premiership 1-0 victory against Polokwane after he came on as a substitute.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder has shared that he feels satisfied that he scored early in the season, and how important scoring that goal was for him.

“It was Polokwane City. Obviously, that alone says a lot about the person that I am and what I bring to the club. I’m very happy that it happened so early because normally I scored goals later in the season,” said Ndlovu.

“I’m very happy, and it was so important for my confidence, also for the coaches, because I didn’t spend a lot of time with them. So it was a matter of two weeks, and now the league is starting and everything.”

“So it was also important for them to believe in me and trust me that I can do the work for them.”

Chiefs currently occupy position three with 13 points after five games, and they’ve managed to keep five clean sheets.

The 28-year-old has stated that he expects a difficult encounter against Sekhukhune United, who currently occupy second position and have secured the same number of points as them.

“Obviously, as a club we’ve done our best to really prepare for this upcoming game, which we understand won’t be an easy task because we have to deal with a hell of a lot of things, hell of a lot of individuals, and also a team that fights within them,” he said.

“So it’s going to be a very difficult encounter, but we are looking forward to it.”

Chiefs is yet to concede a goal as they host Sekhukhune at FNB Stadium this Tuesday [19:30].
