Nabi: We Were Not Good Enough

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has stated that they were not good enough to secure a win, following their 3-1 defeat against Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
This marks the first loss for Chiefs since the start of the 2025/26 season, after they had been unbeaten in their first five games.
Nabi expressed that they knew the difficulties they would face going into this game and that Sekhukhune would cause a lot of problems, especially in transitional play.
“We knew that going into this game was going to be difficult against a difficult opponent,” said Nabi.
“But I feel that we made a lot of mistakes that led to goals and Sekhukhune poses us a lot of problems, especially in transition, especially in the long balls that we couldn’t deal with. That led to a lot of mistakes on our side, and I’ll have to say that we were not good enough.
“Even in our offensive games, in our progression, it’s true that we created some opportunities, but it wasn’t good enough to control the game or to be in the front.”
Nabi has stated that there’s no need to panic, considering that it is still the beginning of the season.
“I don’t think that there is any way to panic, it’s still the beginning of the season, we just need to learn from today [Tuesday], to learn from our mistakes and go into the next games with more conviction and more concentration, and I will say as well that Sekhukhune really deserved the three points,” he said.
