The deserving winner, Anelisa Jaxa from Lady Frere in the Eastern Cape, outshone the remaining Top Ten finalists to secure the dream grand prize: a valuable contract, prizes and a coveted role at SuperSport, Africa’s leading sports broadcaster.

“Being crowned as an MVP is something I’m incredibly proud of,” Jaxa told SuperSport.

“I feel happy, amazed, and humbled. I have always believed that I’m talented, but I never imagined my abilities would be recognised at this level.

“This is SuperSport, so to be named number one of the best of the best, and to hear other contestants say that I deserve to win is truly overwhelming. It reassures me that I’m on the right track.

“I thank God for blessing me with this gift. I can already feel the change in my life, and I’m deeply grateful for the support I have received from so many People.”

Reflecting on his growth and the responsibility that comes with representing a leading brand, Anelisa added: “I am no longer the Anelisa I was before. I am now Anelisa, representing one of the biggest brands. Consistency is something I know I must deliver in every task given to me. I’m beyond happy; this moment still feels like a dream.”

A Strategic Investment in African Talent

The SuperSport MVP Talent Search was always designed as a strategic initiative to unearth and cultivate the next generation of diverse South African sports broadcasting talent.

Rendani Ramovha, CANAL+ Director: Content, Sport (English & Portuguese-speaking Africa), underlined the programme’s significance.

“The scale and the passion we saw from over 2,500 entrants confirms that the appetite for sports broadcasting is immense, and that the talent pool in Africa is deep and vibrant,” said Ramovha.

“The SuperSport MVP Talent Search is more than a show; it’s an investment in the future of the industry. It ensures that the voices telling our incredible African sports stories are authentic, knowledgeable, and reflective of our diverse audiences. Our new MVP represents the pinnacle of that dedication.”
