Mbunjana Reacts To Beganovic Sacking Before Nedbank Cup Final

TS Galaxy captain Mlungisi Mbunjana has shared his thoughts on the departure of coach Adnan Beganovic, just days before their Nedbank Cup final against Durban City.
Despite reaching the Nedbank Cup final, Beganovic was dismissed by Galaxy due to poor results in the Betway Premiership.
Bernard Parker was subsequently appointed as interim coach and will lead the team in Saturday’s final at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Mbunjana said situations like this are part of football, and as players, they have to accept them and move on.
The 35-year-old, who won the Nedbank Cup with Galaxy in 2019 when the club was competing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, added that such developments are inevitable in football and must simply be accepted.
“It’s unfortunate that in the game we play, things like this happen,” he said.
“Those tough decisions have to be made, so you have to accept them as quickly as possible. We need to move on and look forward to the next game and the next chapter. That will help us respond as quickly as possible to the coach who will be in charge.
“It’s just a matter of accepting it as it comes and hoping that the changes will yield good results—that’s what we’re hoping for.”
As Galaxy face Durban City, they remain the only club in South African history to win the Nedbank Cup while playing in the second division.
