“Chatsworth Is A Fortress”: Kadodia Drops Emotional Message To Durban City Fans After Historic Season

Durban City chairman Farook Kadodia has issued a formal thank-you to supporters following a historic 2025/26 season. Backed by a strong home record at Chatsworth Stadium, the club celebrated a historic Nedbank Cup triumph.

City enjoyed a successful campaign, buoyed by strong fan support and an impressive home record of seven wins, three draws, and four defeats at Chatsworth Stadium.

Kadodia said the atmosphere created by the supporters played a significant role in the team’s success on home soil.

“Our home ground, Chatsworth Stadium, once again established itself as a fortress throughout the season,” Kadodia said in the statement.

“The atmosphere created by our supporters week after week played an important role in the team’s success and demonstrated the special bond that exists between this club and its community.

“The passion and support shown by our fans turned every matchday into a memorable occasion and made Chatsworth one of the most vibrant football venues in the country. As we look ahead to the new season, we are excited to create even more unforgettable Friday Night Lights experiences and continue building a fortress that our supporters can proudly call home.”

Kadodia also expressed his gratitude to the club’s supporters for their loyalty throughout the campaign.

“To our supporters, thank you for believing in this team. Whether you travelled across the country, filled the stands at Chatsworth Stadium, followed us on television, listened on the radio, or supported us through our digital platforms, your passion and loyalty inspired us every step of the way.

“The scenes following our Nedbank Cup triumph showed the strength of this football club and the pride it brings to the people of Durban and KwaZulu-Natal.”

Kadodia continued: “I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our sponsors and partners for their continued support throughout the season. Your contributions have played an important role in helping the club grow both on and off the field.

“While we celebrate the achievements of this season, we remain focused on the future. The upcoming campaign presents new opportunities and new challenges, including the privilege of representing the club on the continental stage. We are committed to continuing the progress made this season and ensuring that Durban City Football Club continues to grow as a competitive, professional, and ambitious football institution.

“On behalf of the Board and Executive Management, thank you to everyone who contributed to this remarkable season. Together, we have laid a strong foundation for the future, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.”

For winning the Nedbank Cup, City will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, along with third-place finisher Kaizer Chiefs.
