Kruger United Dismiss Sale Rumours And Player Exit Speculation

Newly promoted Kruger United have dismissed speculation surrounding the possible sale of the club’s status and the release of several players, insisting that no official announcements have been made.

Fresh from winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship and securing promotion to the Betway Premiership, United have recently been the subject of rumours suggesting that the club’s status is up for sale and that several players, including Kagiso Malinga, Celimpilo Ngema, Khethukuthula Ndlovu, Georges Lata, Kabelo Seriba, and Philasande Manqele, are set to be released.

However, Sportswire has been informed by sources that players have not been paid since the club secured promotion to the top flight.

In an official statement, Kruger United moved to clarify the situation, stressing that no such decisions have been confirmed.

“Kruger United FC has noted with concern the false and misleading information currently circulating on various platforms regarding the alleged sale of the club, as well as reports claiming that certain players have been released,” the statement read.

“The club would like to categorically state that these reports are completely false and without any factual basis. Kruger United FC has not been sold, nor has the club made any official announcements regarding the release of players.”

The club also urged supporters and the general public to disregard any information that has not been communicated through its official channels.

“We urge our supporters and the general public not to believe or share unverified information. All official club announcements and updates will only be communicated through Kruger United FC’s official communication channels.”

Despite the club’s denial of the rumours, questions remain regarding the financial situation at Kruger United following reports that players have yet to receive their salaries since the club’s promotion to the Betway Premiership.
