Richards Bay Part Ways With Coach Gabriel After 5-1 Milford Defeat
Richards Bay has confirmed that club has parted ways with head coach Ronnie Gabriel.
This follows Bay’s 5-1 defeat to neighbours Milford FC in the Betway Premiership at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium over the weekend. Despite club chairman Sifiso Biyela assuring fans that improvements would be made after the heavy loss, the result ultimately led to the departure of Gabriel, who was appointed during the off-season.
“The club is sad to announce that head coach Ronnie Gabriel has resigned with immediate effect,” read an official club statement.
“The club expresses its sincerest appreciation to coach Ronnie Gabriel for his dedication, professionalism, and contribution during his tenure as a key technical team member, and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.”
Bay added that an announcement regarding a new head coach will be made in due course.
Gabriel leaves the club sitting 14th on the table with just three points from six matches, having lost three and drew in those matches.
He becomes the third coach to exit his role this season, following the departures of Phuti Mohafe at Marumo Gallants and Cedric Kaze at Sekhukhune United.
