AmaZulu Seeks Goalkeeper Coach Replacement

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu confirmed the team’s search for a new goalkeeper coach following Wayne Sandilands’ departure.

Sandilands joined Simba SC in Tanzania, reuniting with former colleague Fadlu Davids, who was recently appointed Simba’s head coach. Davids and Sandilands previously worked together at Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates.

“He was in the technical team member,” said Zungu.

“He has obviously gone to ply his trade in Tanzania and I’m not sure they have revealed him, but he should be going to Simba SC. We have had engagements with him, he is fine gentleman, son of the soil, a product that we are very proud of.

“So, when he informed us of the excellent opportunity to coach a team that is participating in the CAF Champions League, then I would not want to win such opportunity, we didn’t want to stand in his way.”

Zungu assured fans that a replacement is forthcoming. “We reluctantly let him to pursue his objectives. But we will have a replacement for Wayne Sandilands, we are not short of options that are in the consideration right now.”

The appointment is crucial, as goalkeeping coaches play a vital role in modern teams.

“Maybe after my discussion with technical team, we should be able to announce it as well,” said Zungu.

“It may be well that we reveal until we reveal our players or issue a statement to that effect. But we have a solution for that.”
