Another Player Exit At Royal AM

Veteran striker Sedwyn George is the latest player to depart Royal AM.
George confirmed his departure from the club, which is facing imminent dissolution after the league sanctioned its PSL membership termination.
The 33-year-old was in his second spell with the club, having rejoined them in the latter half of the 2019/20 season.
“Thank you, Royal AM,” George stated, accompanying his message with the club’s video on his social media account, featuring other players and president Shauwn Mkhize.
In the current season, which Royal AM will not complete after playing 11 matches, the 33-year-old managed to score once, in a 3-1 defeat against TS Galaxy on 29 December. This proved to be the club’s final game in the PSL before their current predicament.
During his initial stint with the club, when it was known as Royal Eagles, George netted 20 goals in the 2016/17 season to claim the Motsepe Foundation Golden shoe.
However, this was not enough to secure PSL promotion for Royal Eagles.
Following that season, he moved to Cape Town Spurs. Unfortunately, Spurs were relegated at the end of the 2017/18 season due to a boardroom decision after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Tendai Ndoro.
After spending two and a half seasons at Spurs, George rejoined Royal AM in the second half of the 2019/20 season and remained with the club until its recent collapse due to issues with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
George joins a list of players who have recently left Royal AM, including Philani Sithole, Thabo Matlaba, Shadrack Kobedi, Sabelo Sithole, and Ayabulela Maxwele. Notably, all of these players have found new homes at Golden Arrows.
Other players who have departed Royal AM due to the SARS situation include defender Sbangani Zulu and attacking midfielder Mfundo Thikazi, both of whom have joined Richards Bay. Khulekani Shezi has moved to Sekhukhune United.
As previously reported by Sportswire, Ayanda Jiyane was potentially the next player to join Golden Arrows from Royal AM. However, this publication has since learned that AmaZulu are also showing interest in the player.
