Appollis Thrilled With Debut Victory

Orlando Pirates’ new attacker, Oswin Appollis, is “satisfied” to have played in a packed stadium after his team’s thrilling 2-0 victory against Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-final at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Buccaneers during the off-season, made his debut in front of a full house and was instrumental in both goals, helping to eliminate his former club.

Appollis’s game-changing performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

The Bafana Bafana forward expressed his gratitude for the win, praising the team’s collective effort and stating that their pre-season tour had paid off.

“Very positive result, happy for the day, but most importantly, we have to give credit to the whole team,” said Appollis.

“Everyone worked hard, and all the staff that we did in Spain, pre-season and everything just came together today.”

Appollis also highlighted his excitement about playing in front of the club’s passionate supporters.

“It’s amazing to see a packed stadium and I’m very happy to be in Orlando Pirates. We will continue doing our work in training, and we’ll do our best,” Appollis added.

Pirates will now face Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the two-legged MTN8 semi-final later this month.
