Breaking: AmaZulu Appoint Zwane And Vilakazi As Co-Coaches

AmaZulu has appointed former Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane as co-coach with Vusi Vilakazi.
Sportswire was informed that Zwane, previously Chiefs’ Head of Development, was joining Usuthu. Vilakazi is joining Zwane as the co-coach having been elevated from the club’s DStv Diski Challenge coach.
AmaZulu was searching for a new coach following the dismissal of Pablo Franco Martin. It has seen lots of twists and turns, having been turned down by Benni McCarthy, Ernst Middendorp, and Clinton Larsen.
“Usuthu has officially named Arthur “1011” Zwane and Vusimuzi “Kanu” Vilakazi as joint first-team head coaches in a move which will see the SA-born coaching duo assume their roles with immediate effect,” Usuthu said in a statement on Tuesday night.
AmaZulu President Sandile Zungu confirmed the appointments, expressing confidence in the pair’s ability to lead the team through the challenges of the Betway Premiership. “Their combined experience as both coaches and former professional players will be crucial in developing our younger talents and guiding our seasoned players in the task ahead, ” said Zungu.
Zwane and Vilakazi take over a struggling AmaZulu side at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table with zero points.
Their first match will be against Stellenbosch in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 after the FIFA break. They will then face Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership at Orlando Stadium on 25 October, with the latter high on confidence having won the MTN8 trophy this past weekend.
