Chiefs’ Du Preez Opens Up On His Role Amid Coaching Changes

Kaizer Chiefs forward, Ashley Du Preez, has spoken about his role in the team amid the recent changes in the coaching staff.
This comes after the Soweto giants handed the reins to fellow Tunisian, Khalil Ben Youssef, on an interim basis.
Du Preez, who joined Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in 2022, can play across the forward line and has been used in those positions by different managers, at varying degrees of success.
The 28-year-old has faced scrutiny about his composure in front of goal, despite being lauded for his work rate, with a goal tally that leaves much to be desired.
However, the forward opened up about his role under the interim boss at a media briefing ahead of his side’s clash with AmaZulu FC on Wednesday at FNB Stadium.
“I think there’s no difference in my game. Coach Nasreddine Nabi knew how I was playing, even coach Khalil. So there’s no difference, said Du Preez.
The former Stellenbosch FC forward also reiterated that decisions on playing time are based on the coach.
“I think that at the end of the day it’s the coach’s decision on which player they want to play a certain game,” said the Chiefs forward.
The fifth-placed club will be hoping to take maximum points from Usuthu as they look to get back to winning ways.
