Dithejane Heading To America
Chicago Fire are set to secure the services of Puso Dithejane, who has won two PSL Player of the Month awards this season.
The former Kaizer Chiefs graduate claimed the accolades in August and again in the combined November/December period, highlighting his impressive form with TS Galaxy.
This has attracted the attention of Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire, who hinted on their X (formerly Twitter) account that they are set to announce another South African signing.
Fire are already home to Mbekezeli Mbokazi, whom the club signed from Orlando Pirates last month in a deal reported to be worth over R50 million.
However, Mbokazi was unable to join the club immediately due to his involvement with Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations, currently taking place in Morocco.
Following Bafana Bafana’s elimination in the round of 16 by Cameroon, Mbokazi is now expected to travel to the United States to begin his new chapter. Chicago Fire’s reported interest in Dithejane has further strengthened the South African presence at the club.
The highly rated 21-year-old joined TS Galaxy from Chiefs in November 2023 and has since featured in 63 matches across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists.
In the current season, Dithejane has made 12 appearances, registering four goals and four assists.
