Ditlhokwe Reacts On Getting A Game Time Under Nabi
Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has opened up about getting a game time under coach Nasreddine Nabi in Amakhosi.
Despite that the Botswanan defender was getting a lot of game time at Naturena last season, Dithlokwe struggled to get a game time at the beginning of this current season.
Ditlhokwe has played six league games this season, but two games came in as a sub. He started and finished his first game against TS Galaxy in December. On Wednesday, the former SuperSport United defender assisted Wandile Duba’s goal against Stellenbosch.
As Ditlhokwe struggled to get a game time, the 26-year-old defender revealed how he felt about getting a game time. “I think first of all is all about the team, it’s about what we can bring to the team so that the team can get to winning ways,” Ditlhokwe said.
“It’s not all about a player getting game time and improving, because you can improve as a player then at the end of the day the team is not doing well.
“So, I think the best way to judge yourself as a player is when the team is doing well and you can sit down and say ‘What I’m doing is helping the team.'”
Meanwhile, since Amakhosi are struggling a little bit this season, Ditlhokwe added how they are going to turn things around for them to bring back glory days at Naturena.
“I can say it’s not all about fans, it’s about us as players to redeem the situation,” Ditlhokwe added.
“We are soccer players, so every time whatever goes wrong will always come back to us as players because we are the ones that have the power to turn things around.
“So, it’s all about trying to work hard and try to see what we can do so that we can bring those glory days back.”
Ditlhokwe and his team Chiefs are set to face the Durban-based side Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
