Former Chiefs Winger Raring To Go At Magesi

Winger Kgaogelo Sekgota says he is looking forward to playing closer to his family and friends after being unveiled as a new Magesi FC player on Friday.

Newly promoted Magesi FC announced a staggering 12 new signings on Friday, among whom is former Stellenbosch winger, Kgaogelo Sekgota.

The 27-year-old joined Stellies at the beginning of the 2023/24 PSL season after spending two underwhelming seasons at Kaizer Chiefs.

Despite being part of a competitive Carling Knockout Cup-winning squad at Stellies, he played in 17 games with a single goal in all competitions.

Sekgota expressed his delight at his new club, saying, “Being at Magesi is a blessing for me, my family, friends, and supporters who believe in me.”

Signed by Kaizer Chiefs from Swallows as one of the most promising prospects in the PSL, Sekgota has since not lived up to his potential, having moved from the Soweto Giants and now been released by Stellenbosch.

The former Moroka Swallows winger shared his gratitude to Magesi, who will now count on his services to assist the team in retaining their Premiership status.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and thanks to the chairman and the coach for giving me this opportunity, and all the technical team and Magesi family,” Sekgota said.

The new Magesi winger returns to his home province with excitement as his family and friends will support him in closer proximity.

“I feel like being home is always exciting. This is the place where I grew up and I have family and relatives that have been seeing me from a distance,” said Sekgota.

Sekgota made a special promise to his family, friends, and supporters, saying, “I am happy to be home and I’m going to make them proud again.”
