Yamal, a 16-year-old Barcelona attacker, stole the show with a long-range curler that beat Mike Maignan in the French goal. The strike was a worthy equalizer after Kolo Muani put France ahead early, nodding home a Kylian Mbappé cross in just the eighth minute.

France appeared in control, but Yamal’s moment of brilliance leveled the game and sent shockwaves through the stadium. He impressed further by tracking back defensively later in the game before being substituted to a standing ovation.
