Lilepo Scores His First As Chiefs beat Stellenbosch

Kaizer Chiefs’ new winger, Glody Makabi Lilepo, scored his first goal for the club in their Betway Premiership win against Stellenbosch at Athlone Stadium on Friday.
Lilepo, who joined Chiefs during the January transfer window, rose highest to head the ball home, leaving Stellenbosch goalkeeper Sage Stephens rooted to the spot as he watched the ball hit the back of the net.
The goal came from a short corner routine between Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi, who then lofted the ball into the box for the Congolese forward to finish.
Amakhosi started this game on a high foot and deservedly took the lead in the early stages of the game. Lilepo opened his account with a great header in the fourth minute. It was the second time for him to be involved in Chiefs’ goal as he forced Richard Ofori to score an own goal against AmaZulu on Tuesday.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys continued with their dominance in the second-half, trying to secure a third victory of the year.
Amakhosi were in control of the game but failed to score more goals in the match. This was the second win for Amakhosi against Stellies this season as they won 2-1 in the first round against Stellies in January this year at FNB Stadium in Soweto.
Chiefs are now lying in the fourth place in the log with 25 points after 17 league games. Lilepo won the first Man of the Match award as Amakhosi’s player.
Other results on Friday, AmaZulu beat Marumo Gallants 2-0 with goals by Rowan Human and Wayde Jooste at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
