Magesi Eyes Makhubu Replacement

Sportswire has learnt that Magesi are in advanced talks with veteran striker Mxolisi Macuphu ahead of the 2025/26 season.
According to the information gathered by this publication, Dikwena Tsa Meetse has initiated discussions with Macuphu’s representatives, and if successful, the 36-year-old striker could join the team soon.
Macuphu’s wealth of experience and impressive track record in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) make him an attractive prospect for Magesi.
Macuphu has had a storied career, playing for top-tier teams such as Jomo Cosmos, Chippa United, Bidvest Wits, and TS Galaxy.
He joined Richards Bay earlier this year after departing from Royal AM, where he spent three and a half seasons. Although his recent stint with Natal Rich Boyz saw him play eight games without scoring, his overall ability and experience could still be a valuable asset to Magesi.
One significant factor that could work in Magesi’s favor is Macuphu’s familiarity with the club’s new head coach, John Maduka. The two previously worked together at Royal AM, which could facilitate a smooth transition for Macuphu into the team.
Magesi’s interest in strengthening their frontline is driven by the departure of Wonderboy Makhubu, who has returned to his parental club Sekhukhune United.
