Manchester United Fire ten Hag

Manchester United has confirmed the immediate dismissal of manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman’s final game was Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Sunday, leaving the club in 14th place in the Premier League with only three wins from their first nine matches.
Ten Hag had been under intense pressure throughout the season due to the team’s poor performance. His future was heavily speculated during the off-season, but he was retained after winning the FA Cup against Manchester City. However, the club continued to explore other managerial options, including Thomas Tuchel.
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager,” said the club in a statement.
“Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.”
In the interim, former player Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was appointed by ten Hag, will take over as head coach.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” the club stated.
Ten Hag managed United in 128 matches, winning 72, drawing 20, and losing 36
