Martin Pens Farewell Letter To AmaZulu

Coach Pablo Franco Martin has written an open letter to AmaZulu FC, expressing his gratitude and disappointment following his dismissal on Monday night.

Despite the challenges faced during his tenure, Martin assured the club that it would always hold a special place in his heart.

Martin was appointed as AmaZulu’s head coach at the beginning of the 2023/24 season on a three-year contract. However, the team’s performance faltered, leading to a disappointing 11th-place finish in the Betway Premiership.

This season, the Spanish coach, who previously served as an assistant coach at Real Madrid, suffered three consecutive defeats. This underwhelming start resulted in his termination and the club’s relegation to the bottom of the table.

Along with Martin, assistant coach Aitor Van Den Brule was also dismissed. Vusi Vilakazi, who currently coaches Usuthu’s DStv Diski Challenge team, is set to take over the reins at the first-team level. Vilakazi had previously expressed his desire to coach in the topflight after leaving Richards Bay.
