Mbombela Stadium To Host MTN8 Final
Mbombela Stadium will host the MTN8 final between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch on 13 September.
The MTN8 has been hosted at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium in the past four seasons, with Pirates winning in the last three seasons.
During the announcement, Pirates was drawn as the home team and Stellenbosch as the away side. This is a repeat of last season’s final, in which Pirates won 3-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The 2010 World Cup venue in Mpumalanga will be hosting the second MTN8 final, having staged one in the 2016/17 season, when Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits defeated Pitso Mosimane’s Sundowns 3-0.
Mbombela also recently hosted the 2023/24 Nedbank Cup final, where the Buccaneers defeated their rivals, Sundowns.
