Miguel Focused On Three Points To Make It 12 Against Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has stated that they are currently focused on securing 12 points, ahead of their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys, who have achieved three clean sheets since the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign, currently sit in second position with nine points.

Miguel has mentioned they are focusing on their upcoming match with Sundowns, which is their current target to achieve the 12 points they need.

“I think we’re in a good way, we’re not thinking about the future, we’re thinking about the present,” said Miguel.

“So in the present, what we can achieve is the 12 points, so our focus is all in the 12 points, not in the 50.”

“We’re going game by game, as I’ve said before, brick by brick. So for now, we’re not focused on that international break; all that time will come. We are focusing on Sundowns to achieve our 12 points, and that’s our biggest problem right now.”

The captain has emphasized that just because Sundowns lost the MTN8 semi-final to Orlando Pirates, it doesn’t mean they’ve lost confidence, hence they should not take them lightly.

“I think people are thinking because Sundowns lost the game against Pirates they are no longer having confidence, but I don’t see that when I see,” said Miguel.

“It’s part of football, Sundowns is a big club, they play for big trophies, but as I said, our focus is not on Sundowns. We have to focus on ourselves, on our job, in our duty, on what we can do to go over Sundowns, and of course, we will analyse and see the weaknesses and strengths of Sundowns.

“Of course, they have some weak points, the same way they have some strong points, and we have to be ready for that, and that is the main focus.”
