Milestone For Sacha!

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is set to play his 50th match for the DHL Stormers in their Vodacom URC Kids Round clash against the Glasgow Warriors at DHL Stadium on Saturday.

Having made his debut in a Vodacom URC quarter-final at the same venue in 2022, the dynamic playmaker reaches the milestone in a top-of-the-table encounter against the Scottish side, which kicks off at 13:45.

There are two changes to the backline, with Damian Willemse shifting to fullback and Wandisile Simelane starting on the right wing.

Markus Muller is also in line to become the youngest-ever DHL Stormers player should he come off the bench. His debut would see him join Willemse as one of only two players to represent the Stormers before the age of 19.

Imad Khan and Jurie Matthee provide additional backline cover, while there are several changes to the starting forward pack.

Flank Paul de Villiers, lock Ruben van Heerden, prop Neethling Fouché and hooker André-Hugo Venter all move into the starting line-up after featuring off the bench last week.

Hooker JJ Kotzé and loose forward Keke Morabe are included among the replacements, alongside Zachary Porthen, Oli Kebble and Marcel Theunissen.

Director of Rugby John Dobson said the final home match of the regular season carries significant importance for his team.

“With the play-offs approaching, it is important that we make the most of this opportunity to play at home in front of our fans.

“It has been a productive week of training, and we are looking forward to seeing what the players coming into the mix can add in what is a crucial match against a strong Glasgow side,” he said.

Dobson added that Feinberg-Mngomezulu deserves recognition ahead of his milestone.

“There is a lot expected of Sacha, and he handles the pressure exceptionally well. He will be a key player for us for years to come, and hopefully we can make this match a memorable one for him,” he said.
