Elias Mokwana’s club Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis announced the appointment of Laurentia Reghecampf as head coach. 

The Romanian tactician has signed a contract until June 2026. He has previously coached in Romania, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. 

Esperance confirmed the departure of Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso last month after less than a year in charge. Cardoso took over in January 2024 and led Esperance to the CAF Champions League final where they lost 1-0 on aggregate to Al Ahly. 

He has also secured the Tunisian league title last season. Despite these successes, Esperance had a slow start to the 2024/25 Tunisian Professionalle Ligue 1 campaign. 

Mokwana, who joined before the season started from Sekhukhune United, failed to register a single start under Cardoso, all of his appearances for the club were coming from the bench. 

However, Mokwana scored his first goal for the Blood and Gold club against Etoile de Sahel on Sunday. 

Esperance occupied position sixth on the log standings with 12 points after seven games. ES Tunis’s next league match is against Avenir Sporty De Games at Olympique Hamnadi Agrebi on Saturday (17:30), 9 November.
