PSL Confirms R20 Million For The League Winner

PSL Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has confirmed that the Betway Premiership winner will receive a R20 million prize.

The PSL did not disclose the winner’s prize money at the beginning of the season. Betway stepped in as the league’s sponsor at the last minute, replacing DStv, which had withdrawn due to heavy sponsorship commitments.

DStv had taken over from Absa in 2020, offering a R15 million prize to the league winner. Mamelodi Sundowns claimed this prize for four consecutive years under DStv’s sponsorship.

Betway has now increased the prize money by R5 million.

Orlando Pirates currently lead the table with a perfect 100% record, accumulating 21 points from seven matches. Mamelodi Sundowns follow in second place with 15 points, having played one game fewer.
