Mokwena Signs Former AC Milan Striker

Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club have secured the services of former AC Milan striker Mbaye Niang on a one-year deal.

The Senegalese forward joins the Botola Pro League side after a recent stint with Empoli in Serie A.

Niang, who has previously played for clubs such as Adana Demirspor, AJ Auxerre, Bordeaux, Torino, Genoa, and Watford in the English Premier League, brings a wealth of experience to Wydad.

Internationally, Niang has represented Senegal 15 times, scoring four goals. He was a member of the Senegalese squad that reached the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Wydad, under the guidance of former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena, are strengthening their squad ahead of their participation in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States next year. As one of four African representatives, Wydad aims to make a strong impact on the international stage.
