Mothiba Expresses Confidence In Completing Doubler Over Magesi

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Lebo Mothiba has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure a victory against struggling Magesi at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

The Brazilians are looking to solidify their position at the top of the Betway Premiership table, with a win that would see them move ahead of Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs, who face each other on Tuesday.

Bafana Ba Style and Dikwena Tsa Meetse recently faced each other last month, with Sundowns emerging victorious with a 2-0 win away from home, courtesy of goals from Peter Shalulile, which was a record equaling in the PSL of 129 to match Siyabonga Nomvethe, and Jayden Adams.

Mothiba believes that facing Magesi again will not be a challenge, given their recent encounter.

“During this entire international break, we worked very hard with the coaches and the players that were not in the national teams,” Mothiba said.

“Facing Magesi again as we recently faced them, I think, is not a tricky thing; we’re all professionals, and everyone here has experience.”

The former Strasbourg talisman added that the team’s hard work during the international break has prepared them well for the game.

“It’s a good thing that we’re playing them now because we saw how they play,” he added.

“I think we’re ready for them because we’ve been working very hard at training. I feel like all the players are ready for this game to do their best for the club.”

Magesi, on the other hand, is struggling this season, having failed to secure a win in their first five games, with two draws and three losses.

Mothiba acknowledged Magesi’s style of play, saying, “I think there are no strengths we can see from them because they play direct football, of which it’s long balls, and they have a big striker, but we’re prepared for anything.”
